Brett Gordon

Brett Gordon is a quantitative marketing researcher whose work spans pricing, advertising, promotions, and retailing, drawing on methods from causal inference, machine learning, and empirical industrial organization. He frequently partners with firms to measure and improve marketing effectiveness, and his recent work focuses on assessing and developing methods for measuring the effects of digital advertising.

His research has been published in the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Marketing Science, Management Science, and the Journal of Marketing Research. He is a three-time winner of the ISMS John D. C. Little Award and received the Robert D. Buzzell Best Paper Award from the Marketing Science Institute.

Before joining Kellogg in 2014, he was at Columbia Business School and held visiting positions at Chicago Booth and Stanford GSB. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.

Karen Winterich is a consumer behavior researcher whose work examines how consumers’ social identities influence charitable giving, sustainable behavior, and moral judgments in the marketplace. Her research on recycling, product disposition, and green consumption has made her a leading voice in sustainability marketing.

Her work has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. She received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the Society for Consumer Psychology and is a Distinguished Winner of the AMA-EBSCO Responsible Research in Marketing Award.

She is a past president of the AMA Academic Council, currently serves on the AMA Board of Directors, and was recently named a Penn State Distinguished Professor. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
